New homes are covered by a warranty, which is overseen by the
Ontario New Home Warranty Program (ONHWP). The major warranty for
new homes is one (1) year from the date of possession. While you may
be able to detect the cosmetic deficiencies in and around your home,
we specialize in revealing significant construction workmanship
defects, in addition to building code violations.
It is your
responsibility to notify your builder and ONHWP of any deficiencies
in writing, prior to warranty expiration. If you fail to do so, you
lose your rights under the warranty program. Any deficiencies that
are not reported in writing before warranty expiration become your
responsibility. This failure to report deficiencies, or to properly
and accurately report them could become very costly to you in the
future.
